Fighting Style

Lucia fights primarily using hand-to-hand combat, relying on her speed and manouverability to strike from whatever angle she needs to. She prefers to fight one-on-one, singling out targets and focusing on their weaknesses.

Her fighting style is characterised by quick, precise strikes and agile movements, drawing its primary inspiration from Muay Thai with elements of boxing, having been self-taught in both disciplines extensively, thanks to being raised in the Crimson Ring.

Where she falls short is against armed enemies - if an enemy she can’t easily disarm is carrying a weapon, she might prefer to focus on evasion and disarming them as soon as feasible.

When entering a combat situation, Lucia is always prepared to flee the area at a moment’s notice, taking the time she’s not fighting to survey the area and determine the fastest and safest escape route.

A young woman born to an obscenely rich family she wants absolutely nothing to do with. She left behind her parents and many siblings and departed for New Novarisca City, making a name for herself as a reporter within the dangerous Syndicate-run metropolis. Fighting Style

Ariana’s fighting style focuses on fluidity, adaptability and reactive defence, drawing inspiration from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo, contrasting against Lucia’s more aggressive and direct offence.

Where Lucia will jump straight into the fray and actively engage enemies in direct combat, Ariana will wait for the enemy to make the first move, often baiting them into missing their attacks and capitalising on their mistakes. Failing that, she weaves and manoeuvres around the arena and opponents, waiting for the precise moment to strike.

Ariana’s core strength is in her grapples, throws and defensive techniques, allowing her to control the flow of combat and exploit openings in her opponent’s defence, especially against opponents who rely heavily on raw power and aggressive tendencies.

Her weaknesses lie in facing off agaisnt enemies who can outmanoeuvre her, as she’s unable to reliably predict the behaviour of opponents who move, think and attack faster than she can react. This is typically not a problem, since most opponents in the Crimson Ring and the streets of New Novarisca City tend to think with their fists rather than their heads.

Vespera Kurosu

A mysterious and elegant young woman whose parents work directly under the Crimson Syndicate. Despite this, she holds no power in the organisation, and is entirely ostracised by her parents. She treats the Crimson Ring as her personal playground, often challenging fighters to battles for her own pleasure, perhaps hoping to ascend through the ranks and show her negligent parents what she’s capable of.

Fighting Style

Vespera fights defensively and reflexively, often preferring to lead enemies into tripping themselves over rather than launching attacks of her own. Her fighting style is derived primarily from aikido with a twist of graceful dance moves, inheriting her privileged background as a ballroom dancer.

Compared to Lucia and especially Ariana, Vespera fights not to win and triumph over her opponent, neither to provide entertainment for the audience she would otherwise fight for, but to entertain and amuse herself. Due to this, she typically shows no interest in opponents who don’t give it their all.
